Actually, I heard that the two slaps were on his feet. The guy shoved Renzo and he retaliated with two slaps in the face. The guy curled up in the fetal position after Renzo emasculated him.

Shura, Baloonknot- Why has your respect lessened? Do you know the whole story? Maybe Renzo is wrong, but if his side of the story is true, then he most definately is not.

Are you saying that if somebody calls your wife a **** and she comes to you upset about it, you are going to just let it slide? If so you are a weakling and have no buisness practicing martial arts. If a man won't stand up for his wife, he doesn't deserve a woman. Even a man who CAN'T fight for her but tries is worthy of respect.

If you think "that's not what it's about" than what is it about? Is it about being a big *****, being bullied and backing down all the time? You don't need martial arts for that. This is what we expose in this site. People who make the excuse that "you should mever use martial arts in a fight" because they are too pathetically skilled to ever use it.

If what Renzo said truly happened, than so what? Our laws against assault these days are bogus and pathetic. He didn't walk in there with a gun, he came in there and slapped a guy who was TALLER AND OVER 200 POUNDS!!! Renzo is less than 6' and about 170 - 180. So he slapped him. Big damn deal. The guy sustained no permanent injuries, no broken limbs, Hell he didn't even go unconscious. If I was a judge, I'd throw this out of court if the guy insulted his wife. If he didn't, I'd give him a small fine. Big deal, he got slapped and humiliated in public, get over it. This could have easily been much worse, but Renzo showed plenty of restraint.

Martial arts are not about being "macho" and I don't believe you should fight at the drop of a hat. You should always talk things out first. If someone tries to bully you around or your family, however, you have not only the right, but a DUTY to fight back!! If you do not, than you are more repulsive than the instigator of the fight and have failed as a husband and as a man.

I could see going up to the guy and giving him a chance to apologize to your wife first. If, and only if, he still remains belligerent... It may be time to kick some ass! But, keep in my mind, there only words. Not much of a reason to risk being arrested or sued over. I guess I'm on the fence with this one. I do know this....if someone put their hand's on my girl, there would be total SHOCK AND AWE!!!!!

Balloonknot 'if someone put their hand's on my girl, there would be total SHOCK AND AWE!!!!!'

but the guy did not put his hands on Gracie's wife (I doubt you were implying that though).

I'm with Osiris on this one - if someone says something to your wife once it's not worth potentially risking your life, your wife's life....or being sued over. Now I would probably think about it differently if it was not a one time incidence.
