    Easy mistake to make. Personally, I think a properly executed (traditional) Uchimata probably most closely resembles Koshi-waza (hip throw) more than anything else.

    Then again, it's rare to see a properly executed uchimata. It's a weird throw with so many variations that it's a little more difficult to classify than most throws.

    My 2 cents
    You can throw Uchi Mata predominantly with the hip - and it belongs to the Koshi Waza.
    Or you throw it predominantly with the legs, it belongs to the ashi waza.
    Some people differentiate it by calling the second version " Ashi-Uchi Mata"
