    It's an interesting paralell to draw though: Taekyon's roots seem to be as a sort of 'folk combat sport' like Cumberland and Cornish Wrestling, or bare-knuckle boxing...

    Wait till Koreans invent the time machine and we can go back to check.

    Reality says to me that this was more like village to village thing and not a systematic MA and more like ssireum of folk wrestling.

    Isn't that what I said? Also, those sports I mentioned have been - traditionally - 'village to village' too.
