*sigh* actually, he isn't... This link is someone whose being completely legit (and was what Kickcatcher was parodying with the time travel comment):

    http://www.allmartialarts.com/KIXCO/...istory/map.htm

With an apparently straight face they write:

"Some Hwarang warriors move to China and teach their martial skills."

"Some Hwarang warriors move to Japan and teach their martial skills." (and create JuJitsu according to the down line)

    and finally

"57th generation HwaRang title holder SuAm Sunsa passed the hwarang combat skills (UmYang Kwon) to Joo-Bang Lee, Joo-Sang Lee."

It's enough to make any legit martial historian's head spin.

well i may be wrong i started to read more about the "history" of hwarangdo from their site...but I'm not sure if I can believe the part were he "He combined the spirit and philosophy of the ancient Hwarang warriors with the ancient secret Hwarang combat skills Um Yang Kwon that were passed to Dr. Lee from his master Suahm Dosa."
    What exactly is hwarangdo anyways?

I think we should make our own timeline of the Korean Martial arts in a new thread?
    What do you think?

Glorified Hapkido...that is what it is. They claim that they originated HKD, but in fact they were students of Choi. It really is pathetic that they have to use such crap in their history. As for that link to the history. Dear lord that couldn't be further from the truth. I am writting Lee now to let him know that his history is crap.

Jujitsu dates back long before Shilla was ever a ruling kingdom. If JJ was derived from any Korean arts, it would be either the Paekche, who immigrated to Ryukyu islands after the battle of the 3 kingdoms or the Koguryo kingdom that immigrated with the supposed samurang (which is still yet to be proven), prior the war of the 3 kingdoms. Anyway, just thought you should try to keep the records are accurate as possible.
I guess we will see if he writes back. He has already fingered me as a Farang Mu Sul associate, which they don't like.
