    woodlock oil works pretty nice on bruises. Its really just a stronger, longer lasting tiger balm though. It persecutes other passengers on a train too.

    Another great product is Trameel. It is in a blue and white box at most local drugstores. My personal favorite is Fighter's Friend, another one of those obscure Thai products that works well.

    Kick a harder bag. You condition your shins to get used to the feeling of impact on a solid object. Shin to shin contact is pretty much always going to hurt, but kicking a hard bag will strengthen your legs to a points where it's not as bad.

    You still have soft virgin shins, toughen it up and condition them like Kidspatula describes above. When I was new to MT sometimes I could hardly push the pedal on the car on my way home from practise. It gets easier and easier, trust me.

    Right now I'm using a 4 x 4 wrapped in 3 layers of carpet. And I still cry sometimes.

    I was only joking about the crying part. It's just a 4 x 4 wrapped in carpet down at the bottom. The carpet is fuffy side out btw.

    My brother orginally built it a while ago. I took it up after the heavy bag stopped tickling my fancy.

    I'm thinking about trying to modify it with springs if possible to add a little give.

    ease off the sparring and keep kicking on pads and bags!
    if you kick 30 minutes a day on a bag, your shins will become much harder! do it like they do in thailand man!!!!!

    Immediately stop kicking the post. It is damaging either your form or your leg. Possibly both. Seriously. If you don't beleive this list in yout head the myriad differences between a post and a person.

    Your Heavy bag probably wasn't conditiong your shin because it was a soft boxing style bag. A good long thai bag should be hard and heavy at the bottom. That is where the shin conditioning takes place.
