Best advise so far especially "I layed off the sparring completely until healed"

Let it heal, I nearly annihlated my patelllar tendon and as a result it's taking a while to heal. RICE it, and don't skip MT, just do different drills.

Going more with this idea: even sparring see if someone will let you spar hands only, hands and knees. Really anything that will give your poor shin a break. Maybe work your left round kick, push kicks or whatever other kicks your gym teaches while others work on their rear leg round kick. Talk to your instructor and see what they advise, and don't hesitate to see a doctor if it doesn't start getting better after you give it a rest.

I once had an accident.. spinning side kick and my right shin smashed against the corner of a wall (sharp one) during the spin . It was bloody and I still have the scar to prove it.Good thing i was the exams and I had to quit training for around two months. All I did was limp around in one leg unti the damaged one healed (pain in shin when foot right foot touch ground). It healed over time . I actually dont feel much pain from strikes to my right shin, mabe I should give the same treatment to my left one.
