Probably when Bruce Lee first started teaching before he was famous.

I am sure that somewhere, in the hidden moutains and desserts, while they were building the railroads, someone learned the REAL Wing Chun and that this round eye was probably a killing machine and this ancient and deadly art has since then been passed down from father to son and father to daughter, and I am sure there is some white guy who is the TRUE Grand master of the REAL Wing Chun.

I am sure of all that and it would make a great movie.

    I just don't give a ****.

i would have to agree - probably not until the late 50's early 60's.
being that teaching kung fu to anyone that wasnt asian was frowned upon - in some circles it still is.

bat.... I can understand bullshido's desire to call BS on various systems and schools but damn.... the mere mention of Wing Chun gets your panties in a bunch.

Ok fine...... you think Wing Chun is ****..... we heard you the first 100 times. Can you give it a rest? Some of us train in Wing Chun and do heavy bag work, sparring against other styles and more. Some of us don't think Wing Chun is the be all end all of styles. Some of us know there are other systems and schools out there that rock.....but we still train in Wing Chun.

Give it a rest already will ya. I came here because I like the discussions, video clips, articles and more. But lately if I even see the words Wing Chun I almost don't want to read it because of a few like yourself who just tear Wing Chun apart.

Yeah I know.... I was told by a few of the admins and regulars that it can get pretty rough in here... and I can take it. But it just gets old after a while.

Anyway.... have a good night. :new_olymp

I don't know, the little Wing Chun I studied left me wanting to know more. I find the style very different from the Taekwondo I usually study. The stances alone are foreign. But all great fun.
I found sticky hands to be just a blast (note: Very little Wing Chun training, but I did thoroughly enjoy that which I did do).

I'm betting mid-60's as far as American influx offhand though. Of course that's just my take on it, feel free to light the fires. Asbestos installed.
