    A crucial part of the super delicious ultra mega popular judo throw, osoto-gari, is ramming your shoulder into the other guy. Often when beginers attempt osoto-gari, they neglect the shoulder ram and fail in throwing their opponent.

    That would be to help uproot but since it isn't 'damage causing' I don't think it would be concidered a strike.

    He said that if you are in close and grappling with your swords, then you can ram them with your shoulder to stun them, and from there follow up with a cut to kill them. The shoulder ram was somewhat special, but I don't remember exactly how he said it ought to be done.
