Certified ATA instructor

"Certification Ceremony
On Saturday July 9th 2005 I had an honor bestowed upon me that was almost too good to be true.

Myself, Ms. Morgan Baker, Mr. Nick Drew and Mrs. Leslie Blakeway all took part in the Certified Instructor's Ceremony at Mr. Goins school. On that night we officially became a Certified Instructor.

I must tell you that it was both an exciting and humbling experience.

When I joined the ATA a little under 3 years ago I never imagined that it would change my life the way it has.

The ceremony consisted of 9 phases which were very symbolic in nature.

I have created a video of the event and will post a link to it once I receive permission from my Instructor to do so.

OMG!!! I thought we were on the choi kwang do threads! Dicks, pissed off former students/instructors/whatevers, dishonest organizations, quasi-standards! choi once said that a lot of his organizational ideas came from ATA - guess this explains a lot

Seriously man. I don't personally care for Master Goins due to some of his comments, but I don't go around to other websites, bring up dead threads, and start name-calling.

Go back to your JKD and spar with your "street fighting" rule-set or what ever you do.

What's wrong wtih ATA? I work hard to get where Im at. I wasnt in the video because I'm not a certified instructor yet. I'm just a certified trainer.

What do you guys get when you make instructor? ATA has the highest standards in the world so I expect some jealous replies.

Ah. You've never trained under any other organisation, i presume? Competance at martial arts is pretty low in the ata instructor manual's priorities. Just check out any of the other ATA forums about McDojoism, and the priority given to moneymaking (1-2 year contracts?)

I used to train under Master Goins (Mr. Goins back then he was a 3rd degree when I started) I got to the rank of R. 1st Degree Blackbelt before I couldn't afford it anymore now I wasn't around when all of this happened. And he was never mean to me. Unless all of this is after the last time I quit again I quit at Blue belt then started back up retrained to blue then went from there to R. 1st Degree Blackbelt (wish i could of finished my training).

I may know some of the people who posted in this tread. I now live in Montana where there is no ATA just a private teacher in Fairfield I can go to and re-train love Tae Kwon Do it worked best for me I tried Karate.
