    Hell yeah! Hell no!

    1500 sheep attempt mass suicide.

ISTANBUL, Turkey (AP) - First one sheep jumped to its death. Then stunned Turkish shepherds, who had left the herd to graze while they had breakfast, watched as nearly 1,500 others followed, each leaping off the same cliff, Turkish media reported Friday.

In the end, 450 dead animals lay on top of one another in a white pile, the Aksam newspaper said. Those who jumped later were saved as the pile got higher, cushioning the fall, the daily newspaper Aksam reported.

"There's nothing we can do. They're all wasted," Nevzat Bayhan, a member of one of 26 families whose sheep were grazing together in the herd, was quoted as saying by Aksam.

The estimated loss to families in the town of Gevas, located in Van province in eastern Turkey, is close to 100,000 Turkish lira, which is equal to roughly $91,000 Cdn. This is a significant amount of money in a country where average GDP per person is around $2,700 US.

"Every family had an average of 20 sheep," Aksam quoted another villager, Abdullah Hazar as saying. "But now only a few families have sheep left. It's going to be hard for us."u

The only thing unusual about that story is the number of sheep lost. The financial loss is going to be devastating. That sort of thing happens all the time though. I think there will most likely be some shepards looking for new work.

Al Qaeda will claim that they were peacefully protesting US military presence in the Middle East when imperialist forces began to push the sheep over the cliff to silence their voices.

That's too bad for the families, but ????? What the heck would cause sheep to do that? I've never heard of something like this before.

By asking me if I'm related to hannibal, I assume you're implying that I'm an idiot. I'm not sure why though.

Sheep are notorious for this behavior. I used to work on a ranch, and the truth is that all herd animals are notorious for this. This is exactly how we move cattle. Sheep just seem to be worse than most.

Sheep are constantly following each other over cliffs and such. It's not the least but unusual.

Remember the Native Americans used to run buffalo over the side of a cliff, once the first one went over, hundreds would follow.

Surely you've heard the term sheep used to describe people who blindly follow a person or ideology. Where do you think that came from?

    So, what was your point?
