Why people said Tai Chi fights like kickboxing?

I've never fought in real san shou, I'm just stating theory. Soon I'm joining kyokushin, in my mind it'll work a little better.

Isn't Chen's dad sane about Tai Chi? Like, he just claims it's body mechanics and not fancy "chi" stuff?

If thats the case then thank god there are more out there... I get sooo sick of the "use the force luke" approach... my teachers describe Qi in terms of body mechanics and breathing... NOT as Yoda would...

I'm sure if you were to translate the mystical conception of chi into Western terms, it would turn out to be 'body mechanics'. Yellow bamboo and rad ki specialists are entirely different stories--instead of understanding 'chi' as body mechanics like Chen did, they blew up the mysticism that surrounds chi to Dragonball-like proportions.

Yes. I know that. Most Tai Chi people still claim that it's magic. "How come when I push him this way instead of another, he falls over real easy?" "IT'S MAGIC!!!"
