Any way besides Google to try and find MA schools in your area?

Specific ones, I mean. I tried the phone book, but I came up with zip for "Muay Thai", and I can only find one school in my area for MT and it's out of my price range. I'm sure there has to be more, though, it's not like I live in Iowa.

Well, I live in the suburbs (uh oh), but don't worry, I live in the only suburb where the metropolitian area is crap so usually the business are outside the city (Detroit). If anyone can shoot me an MT school/instructor that's REASONABLY priced (by reasonably I need something that's hopefully $50 - 80 a month), I'd be very grateful.

    1. http://www.mma.tv/schools/ (not all of the schools in their directory are strictly MMA)
    2. Try searching the sherdog forums, under the K-1/Kickboxing section (you'll have to register)

go to the MT club, do a trial class, and talk to the people there. Tell them how it is unlikely you will pursue you MT career considering your financial status. Ask the Kru then if there are other MT gyms that offer affordable classes. If he's a jerkbag, and doesn't recommend you to any other MT school but his, ask the students and eventually, you'll get crackin' on some MT schools.

GO to some tournaments and comps and see who does well/looks good.
There's no choice but to confront you, to engage you, to erase you. I've gone to great lengths to expand my threshold of pain. I will use my mistakes against you. There's no other choice.

Talk to people in your area about MA. Watch the newspaper for stories on people. Some of your best instruction will be found at private schools, not in the phonebook.

The local YMCA is a good start. You will commonly find people training, talk to them, but don't disturb their workout, sometimes they will get pissed if you do that.

    Good luck.
