I did the boxing/thai boxing before for yrs, I am now 37 yrs old and have had head injuries from being in a self defence situation on the street, and have no interest in pounding on someone or havening them pound on me , I am more interested in an art now, with just enought reality thrown in 2 make it interesting!!

I didn't read that...

Anyway, Grappling would be alright for you. There is REAL art in grappling, not some artsy fartsy "step one, step two, blah blah blah". It's just BEAUTIFUL to see a 160lb man tap out a 200lb man with ease.

Consider koryu kenjutsu or iaijutsu.

Cool, thanks for all the replys and info, so who are the grappling teachers in Van.? I know of Universal on Granville St. downtown, any good?? They have a good web page and lots of classes??
