If you're interested in MMA or sub-wrestling, go with the no-gi training. If you want to compete in BJJ competitions, go for the gi-training. Simple as that.
I pointed at him [the panhandler], bringing my rear hand up in a subtle approximation of the double Wu Sau guard that is the default hand position in Wing Chun Kung Fu.

    "Step away," I hissed.

Well lets see. In one you are wearing a gi, in the other, you aren't.

I don't have a preference. I like no-gi because I don't have to worry about someone grabbing my clothes or anything like that, and I like gi because it's not nearly as sweaty, since the gi absorbs a lot of it.

If you want to be a competent grappler, you should probably do both.

I like to get real sweaty with other men and let our nipples touch in a non-verbal expression of our love.

Others prefer to use clothing to remove the intimacy. But this is clearly wrong. They should come to grips with thier desire to control, dominate, and force another man to his will as they grip each other in locked embrace.

Without getting into a 'That's very gay ' comments about no-gi training.

May I ask what you mean about no gi.Do you actually mean training only in T-shirt and shorts?

Because if you think about it, chances are when and if get into trouble on the street and you will be totally clothed.I mean sweather, jeans, jacket, boots and undies.

So if anything ,you BJJ and Judo guys should probably train in heavy clothes. If you want to train for all eventuality.Right!

I saw an article in Blackbelt mag that showed California Sherrif Deputys training ground-fighting in full swat equipment.Kevlar helmet, vest and uniform.

So training in street clothes makes more sense to me then 'nipples-on-nipples'training.

i was planning on wearing shorts and a t -shirt like i do for boxing. and maybe sweat pants and a t - shirt in the winter. i was also thinking about wrestling shoes if the gym permits me to wear them.
