Actually fart no jutsu is called kuki nage.

Funny story this. So, at some taikai, someone asks Hatsumi-sensei to demonstrate the esoteric technique of "kuki nage," or "throwing with the wind." Hatsumi-sensei jumps up on a chair and farts in the guy's face. He of course jumps back and falls down.

The *real* kuki nage is a bit trickier. If someone is attacking you, they tend to track movement, so you "frame" your face with your hands, and then move your hands one way while your body goes the opposite way. Apparently, this trips up some instinctual part of their brain (the amyglada or something) and they end up "tracking" your hands and throwing themselves off balance. We tried it in my dojo one night, but none of us could really get it. So my sensei said "screw it. Hit them in the throat."

I watched it at my friend's house in Atlanta. Even though Bussey's in there, it's worth watching at least once I think, mostly to hear what Shinbushi has to say, lol.

Bussey may just possibly be a fuckwit and a con, but if it weren't for him and his students like Steve Jennum, Ninjutsu would have never have gotten any representation in MMA. Granted, they mixed it with TKD and MT and other stuff, but still...

I've been curious about this DVD. I didn't know Shinbushi was on there!

From what I remember of the trailer, it sort of sounded like it propogates the funky romantic revisionist history about ninja being some hippy peasants trying to fight off their wicked samurai oppressors... how does it paint them exactly? Is it solely about Iga, or does it cover ninjutsu from other ryu?

I like how it's not just Soke Hatsumi too, they're also getting Fumio Manaka in on it so it's not just Bujinkan or ex-Bujinkan on there.
