have you been through all of oku and goshin

Yes, and Shinnin no maki also. Listen, knowing alot of techniques and variations does more harm than good if your basics and foundations are week. The variations should come natural to you with training. Trying to learn 10 different ways to do any techniques does you no good if you can not use the original technique in randori or against a resisting opponent. And yes, my instructor had 3 complete sets of the scrolls from his professor and 2 others, so there were lots of variations. Do you randori or free spar? We did not, and I'm still trying to improve my foot work, timing and mobility because of it. It is not how many techniques you know, but how well you can use the ones you do.

we only get into sparing as blackbelts becuase doing it at lower ranks does some harm to learning later on..
and as far as variations goes, the blackbelts tell me that eventually you will abandon all names of any move and be able to make your own and move from one to the next without trouble, so i do know what your talking about, but i was trying to let the THAIBOXER guy know that he has not ran into every wrist lock out there and probly will never.

So Brahman, let me get this straight:
1: The only person who can demonstrate the effectiveness of wristlocks is a 4th degree BB.
2: You don't spar until black belt.
Your school and/or style is ****.

and at the very least he would use the failed technique to move into another that will work.
