    Akido v BJJ/MMA

So, I've been searching for a straight BJJ school that teaches GI and no-GI training. Well, I found one at a boxing gym here in B'ham, AL. So, Saturday was my first class at this school. The teacher knew I did MMA everyone else had on Gi's I was the standard MMA guy (under armor and swim shorts). I thought the other students were BJJ blue blue belts. No, they were AIKIDO blue blets. Well, i asked the Aikido guys to show me some of their stuff ( I have genuinely always been intrigued by Aikido). They proceded to show me a "break fall." A break fall is a technique used against a wrist lock. So, these guys if they get in a wrist lock will hurl themselves to the ground (where they have no ground game). So, we went through an awesome BJJ class then went to the GI based exercises. I must admit GI based BJJ has a certain beauty and finese to it. At the end of class the instructor made sure that all the other students went at least one round with me due to the fact I plan to compete in MMA. Long story short, I destroyed every single person ( I did this in an instructional and caring manner). Afterwards the BJJ teacher recruited several new students. The aikido students realized how weak their game was and were greatful for the experience. I'll try to see if I can video tape some of the Aikido v BJJ dealings with the instructors permission.
Oh, and I've only been doing MMA for about 4 months.

    OMG, not again, please.

BTW, a breakfall is not a technique used "against" a wrist lock, is the method which permits your partner make a full force wrist lock on you while minimizing risk of injuries. In short, is like tapping.

in my school a breakfall is used to lessen the power of a fall after a throw. it has no realation to tapping whatsoever in my system. we use it to help recover from a throw.

There is a Revolution BJJ gym in B'ham. They do no gi stuff. http://www.bjjrevolutionteam.com/revolutionteam.asp

This might better suit your needs. If you can, as you put it, destory everyone at the gym, then this gym is not for you.
