    What ever happened to that "PhysicsNazi" guy?

    He had some huge crusade about F=MA as applied to punching power and things like that.

    Acceleration is the incremental increase of velocity over a given time.
    Acceleration is any change in velocity.

    Positive and negative, respectively.

    "Deceleration" is colloquial.

    Acceleration is rate of change of velocity.
    If you're going to be a pedant then it does matter.

    True. If there's a thread which should be pedant, it's this one.

    Excellent idea, thank you. Now maybe a whole seperate board for people who derive their opinions from actual experience vs. reading text books.

    While I'm being sarcastic, I actually do think a board devoted to pure theory would be interesting, since it can often be beneficial and there are several people here that seem to be well versed in it.

    Yeah, sorry, my incomplete definition. That is the correct one.

    Damn, I was all set to argue about this. :new_infin
    Before this thread degenerates into a flame war;

    1)What are kinetic chains and what do they have to do with punching.

    2)How can we be sure there is no neurological(skill?) crossover between similar exercises?

    I think that there is crossover between excercises of the same muscle group and activities that involve those muscle. Of course, it would not be 100% effectiveness, but that's to be expected.
