The Americanized Chinese food are not really Chinese.
There are too spicy, too much fried stuff.
Fry dumpling, fry rice, fry chicken wing or buffalo wing according to Jesssica Simpson that buffalo does not have wings, fry General Tso chicken, fry Won Ton, etc etc etc.
Stir fry meat with veggie.
If you go to China Town and sit in some Dim Sum, noodle house, or Moslem Cuisine etc, you may have a real taste of real stuff.
No Mc food from Mc restaurant.
Fresh veggie, freshly prepared sea food from live fishes, shrimps, lobsters, crabs etc.
The food is only as good as the chef that prepares them.
By the way, if you go to Foo Chow or Fu Zhou restaurants, the chefs usually know White Crane style.
I like Fu Zhou Nian Gou which is a sticky rice cake. Heck I like just about every item in Fu Zhou dishes.
If the food is no good, the restaurants may not last long in China Town.
Jiang Ze Xiao Cai is Southern Jiang Su and Ze Jiang, they have the best snacks or small dishes in China. They are even praised by the emperors. The emperors had to disguise in plain clothes, just to came down here for the small dishes.
Moslem cuisines: I like the sesame cake, mutton sourkraut soup and cold beef slices.
The diner is called Qing Zhen Guan. The mosque is called Qing Zhen Si. Do not confuse the 2 terms.
There are also Tibetan food, Yak milk and Mongolian BBQ.
Moslem is the largest minority in China next only to Han. They settled everywhere in Northern China. Along with them, the food and the Kung Fu. The famous name is the sailor Cheng He. He set sails with Junk long before the Spaniards.Last edited by SPJ; 6/20/2005 10:10am at .

Fear Factor Challenge 2nd stage.
Squid is cool. Sea food is easily cooked. You may try different sauce. I like mayonaise with boiled squid. Or even ketchup with a slice of ginger. Wasabi for Sushi guys with uncooked squid.
Again doo not like fry squid with hot peppers. Fry and spicy.
