You should be more concerned when they start professing a taste for chinese food (the real **** not that crap you Americans have in boxes).
In the immortal words of my friend Adam, "White people shouldn't eat at chinese restaurants. There's only two reasons why you'd eat at a chinese restaurant. Either you're Chinese, or you're with Chinese people!"
Because we all know if two white people go to a Chinese restaurant unaccompanied by a suitably Asian chaperone it's just plain pretentious...Rad ki was made up by adolescents. I do not know who created trad ki but it was not made by adolescents. your an ass dude, Im not being a little bitch you are, your past the level of a bitch. Your beyond Bitch! If im easting my time with ki and psi, then your wasting time to prove frauds, and all **** like that! -theoutsider
Kick boxing is ok, but don't expect do beat a man like Rickson Gracie with that. You need a real martial art. You need Xing Yi Quan. -Emptyflower
The splits, how ever, have a few martial uses. Doing the splits for me, can put my fists in testical strike range.
dont ignore the Art for the Martial or else your just kick boxing
Yes i am serious, there are kicks that can block punches. we have them in Moo duk kwan.
I want to learn how to use them in case my arm gets broken in a fight.
what would you have me do? if my arm gets broke, not block punches? -sempi-stone

My karate instructor was a real bad-ass when he was younger.I can tell.He won't tell us anything but he sometimes lets it slip out a comment about his old days.
But I think you guys have to understand that most MA instructors aren't Bad-asses at all. There mostly nice guys.I think the day when only street-fighters and goons used to be the only studenst found in a school are almost in the past.
oh! You will still finds these guys around. But less and less compared to the old days.
I think your trying not to give him any credit Ok! so he's not as tough as you.So what. For all you know he might have had a few tournaments under his belt.Again if he was not succesfull then I can't blame him for that either. If he's worried then I think thats all we can blame him for.Too worried.Last edited by CanucKyokushin; 6/16/2005 9:32pm at .

In response to the article;
You can only be YOURSELF. You may pretend to be something that you are not. But in the end, you are still you.
It does not matter what you wear, what you eat or what style of MA you practice.
You are still YOU.
Yes. Responsibility for one's own action has to be "injected". If you beat someone up, you go to detention, suspension or even jail for assault. You end up in rehab.
Self defense should stress how to defend against strikes or grappling.
The counter moves have to be stressed.
Call security. How to avoid confrontatiopn and fight?
What you practice at Dojo, stay at Dojo.

OOP, it is not my Dojo or Dojang.

Then none of my business.
NEXT for Chinese food takeout.

What if you want to change "YOU"? Then what? If you start to acti differently and dress differently, have you succeeded? How do you succeed? Say I'm a jerk, or too shallow, and want to change that. How would I do it? If I act nice, will I only be "acting" and in reality want to rip someone's face off?
I hate the "just be yourself" advice/deely.

In private, you may be whatever you want to be. Sometime to the extreme or fancy this and that.
In public, there are certain rules or decorums. We have to be in certain agreeable way socially in school or work place etc.
If you want to better your self, you have to know your self first.
There are self assessment or self awareness or analysis tests etc.
Or just introspection and meditation.
Cultivate the things you like to have.
I will be nice or say something nice to 10 people a day.
Or do 3 good deeds a day.
OOPS. I am heading toward the Buddhist/Daoist path.
