    Was she kidnapped in Brazil?

Becaus if so, kidnappings of rich people´s relatives are more or less "common". Most of them usually end wwith the family paying a big ammount of money (but not big enough to make it unpayable) and the vicitm apperas unharmed.

I´ts a kinda business some mafia has around there. Killing the victim just would hurt it, so more often than not, the victim is not killed or abused.

Or so i´ve heard. Is not the first case i´ve heard of in Brazil. The ones I´ve heard ended ok: somebody paid, the victim was released intact.

    Maybe wingChiungLawyer can correct me.

She was kidnapped in Brazil but she's been missing for over a year. I don't think any kidnapper would wait that long for a ransom.
