I still think it's very stupid to say TKD suddenly works because of ONE kick ONE guy threw in ONE fight, when there are overwhelming amounts of TKD people who suck ALL THE TIME.

the first time i sparred a boxer with a decent amount of contact (after only having studied TKD), i was getting my head punched in. then i did a jump away spinning back kick, which landed squarely in his guts, which he was pretty impressed with.

Must be a Canadian thing. Georges St Pierre threw a spinning back kick at Matt Hughes in UFC 50. Visibly knocked the wind out of him. Every time I've seen him fight he tends to try the same thing, but this one actually connected. And it's a far better looking kick than the one in the gif because he manages to push his leg all the way out.
Rad ki was made up by adolescents. I do not know who created trad ki but it was not made by adolescents. your an ass dude, Im not being a little bitch you are, your past the level of a bitch. Your beyond Bitch! If im easting my time with ki and psi, then your wasting time to prove frauds, and all **** like that! -theoutsider

Kick boxing is ok, but don't expect do beat a man like Rickson Gracie with that. You need a real martial art. You need Xing Yi Quan. -Emptyflower

The splits, how ever, have a few martial uses. Doing the splits for me, can put my fists in testical strike range.

dont ignore the Art for the Martial or else your just kick boxing

Yes i am serious, there are kicks that can block punches. we have them in Moo duk kwan.
I want to learn how to use them in case my arm gets broken in a fight.
what would you have me do? if my arm gets broke, not block punches? -sempi-stone

that's the kick? that proves nothing. That punch he threw was terrible. yeah it would have hurt if he connected, but he was aiming for the guys chest... why??
it looks too high to be at his solar plexus... plus he put his head down and completely exposed his head and his side/stomach, which got kicked. he's lucky he didnt get kicked/kneed in the face.

    let me explain

actually the punch looks like a looping overhand igor vov/fedor -style that's why it looks weird, but it's effective in mma

BTW lousier gave credit to his tkd bb after the match

TKD works, you just need to tweak it, and then add in your other stuff.
And I think now with MMA becoming more prevelant your going to see alot more guys that cross train in tkd and other ****, and your going to see more stuff like this.
I totally forgot about Chute Boxe's striking coach being a Tae Kwon Do practioner.

    Good point.

Heh just cause some people can use some bits of TKD well in a ring fight doesn't suddenly grant the ability to fight to 100,000s of TKD kids out there who have no idea how to fight.

I bet you that any of the people that use TKD in the ring don't do standard TKD training. It would be a lot more like MT than TKD... they might take a few kicks from TKD.

I've been pretty busy lately and haven't had much time to read the forum. I was afraid that I was missing out on things, but I'm relieved to see that the discussions are right on track . . . for three years ago. This is good news for me, since now I can drop pearls like "All sorts of **** works, if you train it properly" and sound like Yoda.*
