Attacker warned he could be jailed

A MAN is facing jail for assaulting a martial arts enthusiast in a Chinese restaurant.

Kenneth George, 37, was convicted of assault causing actual bodily harm after a two-day trial at Ipswich Crown Court. George, of Clare Close, Mildenhall, had denied the charge. He was warned he could face a jail sentence by recorder Richard Jones, who adjourned sentencing to March 27 and told him that "all options" were under consideration.

The incident happened in the Dragon House restaurant and takeaway in Mildenhall on September 7, the court heard. The victim, Giles Bullock, told the court that George was aggressive and started punching him in the head for no reason. Mr Bullock said he was kicked after he fell to the floor of the takeaway. George walked away, but he returned and continued the assault. "The final blow broke my cheekbone," said Mr Bullock.

Cross-examined by defence lawyer Martin Hooper, Mr Bullock accepted that he practised martial arts but he denied owning weapons including a knuckleduster. George had told the court he thought Mr Bullock had been wearing a knuckleduster. George said that Mr Bullock suddenly brought up a fist and hit him on the chin with an uppercut.

George accepted he then punched Mr Bullock. But he insisted he had acted in self-defence and denied ever kicking Mr Bullock. Restaurant owner David Kwok Wai Li said he had not seen any aggression from Mr Bullock.

So what's your point?

A guy who happens to study MA wants to get a bite to eat and another guy hits him with brass knuckles? How long has he been training? Do we know this Bullock guy wasn't a white belt somewhere? Was it a sucker punch? What were the circumstances? Perhaps he should have seen it coming, but how can we tell? Not enough information here.

Ursula, you wouldn't make a lawyer. It was the MA guy who had the knuckles. Probably one of those "look at me I'm a black belt" types.

my knuckles usually don't get dust on them, but for those who do, a little bleach and Mr. clean ought to do the trick
