I find that kind of set-up to complex to run.At my gym we got wrestlers boxers, MMA guys, sub guys. There are consisent hours we are open, plus long time trusted guys got keys.Even if you cant make it during the open hours(7 days a week we are open, for some days open around 10 hours) you can try to find someone to open it for you.You are only guarenteed instruction at certain times(wrestling, boxing, MMA whatever). But most everyone is happy to help each other out.
I used to charge people more if they came more often but it made people train less.My job ois to get guys good.
A martial arts school should be run like a gym.
When I was a student at other schools it pissed me off that the school was only opened a couple times a week.I didnt just need instruction, I needed a mat and bags and people willing to work out together.I would drive by the school and see it locked up with the lights out when I had the time and energy to train.
In fact the last 2 days guys without keys asked me if they could train later than we are open and I drove there just to let them in and lock it up.
I would never again train at a school that didn't give me alot of access.
In various gyms over the years i have usually paid between $60-90/ mo range for unlimited training.
This thread is helpful to me right now, in the process of putting togethr rates for new martial arts gym in Boston.
$55 a month for BJJ, 3-5 days a week, and free for Kickboxing/MT since I can't really be enrolled in the class and only get some informal practice from one of the instructors during open class.
Here in good ol Ottawa I pay $60 a month (Canadian) for my WC. I get 3 classes per week. Its a great price I think.
I pay $75 a month for three classes a week.
