Is it too early to start planning the next Mega?

What do we know about dates? I gather there's some issue with a con driving up hotel prices in ATL for part of August? I have to be in Virginia for part of August, anyway, so it's kind of "on my way" but I'm not a wealthy dude. . .

DragonCon is not until September this year so we should be OK on that front in ATL.

ATL. Like how many members and Throwdowns do we have here? Get on the ball. We have a hub airport, members all over the city, great places to eat,and drink, good sushi bars, a couple different location options, etc.

I don't care where in the continental US it is - I live in Nowhere, so everything is the same distance from here, barring maybe denver. I have to be in virginia for part of August anyway, so ATL would work for me.

Consider me a vote for the majority opinion.

And Atlanta in AUGUST?? What's that going to be, 95 degrees with 95 % humidity?

April or May or the fall might be nice there... Or better yet, somewhere like VEGAS!!

sez one could fly from Atlanta on Friday the 6th of January to Vegas, get a car and a room at Best Western for two nights and fly back for $512.

Hmmmmmm.... Going the other way, Vegas to Atlanta on the same dates and such the cost is only $436 for Courtyard by Marriott Atlanta, hmmm.

Yes. I think that would be best. There's plenty of space.

Vegas or Denver are nice and central, but it seems kind of silly to neglect the places where we already have lots of members over a difference of a few bucks on a plane ticket. Plus, having it in a city where we have throwdowns helps us find things like a gym, a bar, a cheap hotel...

Ok, we would need to know a range of dates that we want to work on, August was mentioned, but may not provide enough notice for all. I would recommend the last two weeks of August/first two weeks of September. Any objections/requests?

Phrost, how many people are we talking? KM, how would your sensei feel about having a larger event? I can also talk to Bull to see what Jacare would require for us to use the Roswell school, lots of space there.

The later the better as I'll be in Europe in early August.

I gotta find out where in Germany Asia is stationed (I'll buy him a beer, sure as hell don't want to fight him!).
