I'm no expert in striking, but I know how to use the mirror for alignment and targeting, and I have no difficulty mimicking the same movements with the weights. It just happens to be harder to do so.

And in only one week of training with rubber bands on side and roundhouse kicks, my form improved dramatically, to the point my instructors noticed the change. And as long as these training techniques continue to provide sustainable and noticeable improvement to my technique, power, and speed, I'll continue to use them.

Bruce Lee used to do the same thing with cable machines, he said he got good results out of those so I don't see how it can hurt if you wanna use em :)

More muscle = stronger arms = harder hits. It isn't the only factor, but I'm fairly certain that heavyweights hit harder than featherweights, and it ain't because they're taller.

The arms are used in punching, as is the whole body. Strengthen the muscles, you strengthen your strikes. End of discussion.
    You to Koto.

Let me just quote what koto said about improving punch power:

Hardly the 'punch' muscles. It just shows that ninjas really don't know much about actual fighting. A piece of advice: stick with the swords, smoke bombs, and black suits.
