I meant I would wear a single, but perhaps not the double.

Don't worry, I'll probably buy the SD Antishock double anyways :o

God, I hope that's not what I'M feeling right now.

    WS,

Interesting you should say that about the uppers...you wouldn't wear it in the ring, eh? I've been sparring regularly with my upper, opponents from 150 (tiny bastards!) to a 230lbs monster who likes to hook the head a lot. My jaw has never really been an issue. Not yet anyway. I'll have to ask what we use for our actual fights...

"If all you do is roll you may not even need one. "

Since I suck on the ground, I end up getting in a bad position. I will clench my jaw hard and turtle my neck to defend it. I have more options in getting out of the rear naked choke while I clench my jaw. mouthguards help on the ground as well.

Also try warming to mouthpiece a LITTLE bit, I've found it helps so the mouthpiece isn't too foreign on a body in your mouth.
I remember you choking on it at the throwdown, that was funny...

I rolled with a mouthguard for the first time today, I felt my molars grinding when my friend was trying to get a choke from side control and I remembered that my dentist had just told me that my molars were all chipped up at my last appointment.

I have a random uber-generic single boil and bite mouthguard. doesn't sound very safe, but i don't think that at my level i'll need anything better. or i could just go to Modell's and get a shock doc.

I held off on the SD Double v4.5 today because it doesn't have that wicked GripFit moulding. I used my single today in training and took a pretty weak punch square on the chin without any sliding.

I think I'll stick with the SD v3.0 for now because, unlike the BrainPad, it doesn't make me drool like a rabid dog.

    STFU!!!

I was totally fine to night before. I even tried it again earlier that morning, and as well when we were changing. Don't tell me I was nervous to face that guy, because I wasn't, and I have never been nervous to face anyone!!!

But if you don't normally train with it, in the heat of a situation, you won't be able to handle it well.

It's like your cup...a lot of people only put it on when they want to spar, and then whine that it limits their kicks, etc. I wear mine from the moment I walk into the dojo/training hall to the moment I leave. I wear it for everything, to be sure I can throw kicks with and without it. I train with my mouthguard for ALL sparring/rolling now too, even no-contact, so I can feel it for breathing purposes.
