this I wish I had that advantage. But the past is the past and I missed my chance to take up martial arts when I was little.

anyways, back on topic
my center teaches wushu
maybe 70% of those students are kids, i think
but can kids really handle something so serious as fighting?
i think teaching them felxibility confidence, some basic moves are alright then they need to mature into adults later, i think brown belt is the highest a student can get there (i take WC not acrobatics) and the high level students are all teens....

My school's philosophy is that middle/jr/high school wrestling is an appropriate martial art for kids. After they turn 18, then they're ready for submissions, striking and vale tudo. Maybe some schools have better luck with kids, but it seems like more trouble than it's worth to me. Of course, I waited until I was 30 before I learned anything besides wrestling, so go figure.
"Go cry about it Vargas. Aren't you late for your shift at McDonald's?""I had once talked to Billy Conn, the boxer, about professionals versus amateurs - specifically street fighters. One had always heard rumors of champions being taken out by back-alley fighters. Conn was scornful. "Aw, it's like hitting a girl," he said. "They're nothing."
