No, really, that makes perfect sense, because Couture is really the perfect gatekeeper for Shamrock.
Haven't you wondered why Liddell didn't fight Shamrock last year? That's the match everyone wants to see . . . . but Liddell didn't take care of business and get past Couture. He didn't beat Couture, so he couldn't have Shamrock.
Now he's beaten Couture, so it's time to give him a shot to prove that he's a real force at 205, and can you think of a better way than beating Shamrock?
(Well, OK, beating Shamrock is a little ambitious, but I believe Liddell can hang with him and go the distance. We'll see.) -

You think shamrock's little 'slip' the other night might have anything to do with creating a perception that he's well within Liddell's grasp?

Is this fight going to happen in UFC or PRIDE? I thought Liddell pissed off the UFC guys?
It *could* have been a stunt to get Liddell's guard down, but do you honestly think Liddell is going to just not train as hard now or something?
