Bloody politics.... thats all I can say... I'm pissed off with people being arseholes. I'll expand a little on the soap opera that my training has become...
    This episode: It's My Party
Cast: Fred - my aiki/escrima instructor and friend who is also studying taiji
Steve - my main instructor for sun style taiji (and bagua and hsing i)
Dave - All round MA god, who teaches taiji, bagua, hsing i and systema, normally comes over once a month to teach a course
Matt - does taiji with Steve and is training for NHB contests
Plot: Steve has injured himself in a motorbike accident, and has decided that he should stop teaching while his shoulder heals up.
Matt takes over the teaching for a few weeks, but isn't comfortable doing it, so decides to stop the lessons until Steve is fit.
Normally, Steve organises for Dave to visit once a month or so for a course, but now he's injured it doesn't seem to be happening.
Fred decides to invite Dave down to his dojo to run some courses instead, with the usual open invite.
Steve for some reason takes offence at this, and starts organising courses with Dave, but makes them invite only. This invite does not extend to Fred, and he hasn't told me, so I assume I'm not on the invite list either.

Seeing as our aiki club contributes an average 6 people to these courses out of 15 or so, thats quite a drop in his attendance, plus however many other people don't fit his new ideology.

    Bugger......

Just don't get involved in any petty squabbling, and you'll probably be able to train with all/any of them when the smoke clears. Sounds like an ego/jealousy thing. Martial artists can be kinda proprietary and petty.

Nice to know this kind of petty bickering extends beyond the JKD community. <img src=icon_smile_dead.gif border=0 align=middle>

Wait till you run into the JKD Nucleus people. It mostly comes from them -- and it's much worse in the states.

JKD Nucleus is an organization that tried to rail-road Dan Inosanto out of the JKD world and tried to trademark the names "Bruce Lee" and "Jeet Kune Do".

    Loonies, the whole bunch.

They dissolved the organization a little while ago, thankfully. Linda Lee was in on it and I've never liked her since. But they're still around and bleating at people.

By the way, if we were following the politics of JKD, you and I wouldn't even talk to each other since I'm an Inosanto/Vunak "Concepts" girl and Dill's organization doesn't like the PFS.

F that junk, learn from everyone and ditch the politics all together.

    AND JKD HI-JACKS ANOTHER THREAD!
