Were any of these people accomplished sumo wrestlers?

Yarborough was an accomplished one in the U.S. and Europe.
I'm not sure about Kitao, but I heard his name before and believe him to be a professional.
It's quite possible that Robinson and Tuli are nobodies in Sumo.

All of them were not Japan trained Sumo mostly the outside of Japan sport that is trying to get into the Olympics. In Japan, Sumo in any stable (Heya) are not allowed to compete in any other sport or for any other Heya

Possibly. I haven't researched and I don't think I'm going to. I don't think that the Japanese Sumo would do any better.
The olympics suck. They don't have Sumo, MMA, or Muay Thai, but they have.................

I wonder how a BJJ guy would deal with a sumo wrestler on the ground??? In particular with the sumo wrestler on top of him.
I know in current sumo they have about 75 techniques (I forget he exact number) that are recogonize as legal techniques in sumo spouts. To most people they think sumo has no techniques but this isnt the case at all. You can call it a form of martial arts.

Sumo is definitely martial arts, see my post above. And yeah, I must invoke the phrase "tomato can" in reference to the Sumo guys in UFC.
And if you think it's for big guys only, I have seen Japanese Sumo matches where a guy 230 lbs has thrown a guy at 500+ lbs. And there are many examples of technique winning over brute strength/weight. It's an advantage to have BOTH though.
In regard to BJJ vs. Sumo, it would be pretty size related. A 600 lb. Sumo on top of a 180 lb. BJJ guy would be instant doom for the BJJ guy, just by the factor of gravity alone. If the BJJ guy was on top? Probably in his favor.

if the BJJ guy was on top the Sumo guy could just start rolling and do a "steam roller"!!!

I wouldn't say it's certain doom, Matsui was pinned by a 600+ lb Yarborough and won.
A BJJ practicioner would push out from underneath him, if he was pinned in the first place, take his back and either choke or pound him.
Most likely pound him.
