The one ninjutsu seminar I attended did that at the end as well. Because there were a large number of people from different MA backgrounds, I assumed that it was to get some feedback on how they did things.
Getting feedback and discussing stuff has been a part of every class I do, but never as formalised as that.

One quick question FD... how do you know if you're being stealthy? I assume you'll be doing some of their nighttime sillybuggers, and you're going to be at one hell of a disadvantage.

Sweep, not everyone have the moneys to burn. I have a lot of expense coming up. Which is why I cannot spend so much on training. If I was looking for a class that doesn't cost so much, then I would have been in TKD class or some other crap for 20 a month right now. Other than that you cannot determine how serious I took my training unless you see how I trainned. I and my friend used to practice anywhere between 4 to 8 hours a day, 6 days a week while I was still in the college. I am pretty sure not many people trian that much but that doesn't mean they aren't serious about their training.

Balloon, I like sitting and discssing about the class. It will allows the instructor to know what the students want, what to work on, and other things.

LOL! I doubt we are gonna to do any stealth training.

I may be deaf, but that doesn't mean it is a disadvantage. I can feel the ground and where I am step very well even with shoes on and I can see much better in dark. Be careful otherwise you may will have a night mare (jk).

The group I went down to visit often spent several hours at night creeping around trying to acheive certain objectives without being seen or heard by anyone else on the university campus. I was under the impression this was common for ninjitsu clubs.

Was this traditional JJ or BJJ? A BJJ gi for 35 is a steal and a half.

I was just thinking FD... If the instructor really "knows" than why does he need a discussion about the class; on how to have the class? As for myself, my teacher always knows exactly want he wants to do on any given day. I'm not trying to be a jerk but this issue brings up a red-flag for me! Maybe I'm wrong, but it sounds like the instructor is trying to "learn" from the students what they want so he knows what to try to teach. In my mind it should be the other way around.

I think he just want to make sure every body undertsand and answer all of question for in case anyone didn't get something during the class. Also Bujinkan is very different from any martial arts, even a experince martial artist won't understand what is going on for a while. However I have experince in Harakure Ryu so I understand some of things they teach in Bujinkan but it is still very different. I can understand why the instructor discussion about the class, so he can be sure that everyone understand what is going on.
