    Battlestar Galactica 2005

Is it just me, or is the new series AWESOME?!

The plot, the actors, the action and the downplayed hollywood science?

I love it that they muffle space action sounds, as in space, there is no medium for sound to travel.

I also like the play on the christian religion, it's neato.

It's awesome. I have season 1 on DVD, can't wait to get season 2. Sci Fi drama where the acting and plot don't let the special effects down.
Rad ki was made up by adolescents. I do not know who created trad ki but it was not made by adolescents. your an ass dude, Im not being a little bitch you are, your past the level of a bitch. Kick boxing is ok, but don't expect do beat a man like Rickson Gracie with that. You need a real martial art. You need Xing Yi Quan. -Emptyflower

The splits, how ever, have a few martial uses. Doing the splits for me, can put my fists in testical strike range.

dont ignore the Art for the Martial or else your just kick boxing

Yes i am serious, there are kicks that can block punches. we have them in Moo duk kwan.
I want to learn how to use them in case my arm gets broken in a fight.
what would you have me do? if my arm gets broke, not block punches? -sempi-stone

I'm stuck in the house with an awful cold, so I might download this. Is the series good throughout, or is there a good point to jump in?

Good throughout. It's more of a miniseries so if you miss one episode you've pretty much missed a third of the season, or something like that.

I have been impressed so far. I'm about two thirds through season one. It actually compares favorably to the yardstick of modern sci-fi series, Farscape. All hail Farscape!
I make no excuses, I am a confirmed Farscape nutrider.
Shut the hell up and train.

Just finished the first season and the show is much better than I thought it would be. Normally I watch sci-fi for the kitch value, but this series is much better than that. No mindless enemy, no particle of the week, no pancake-faced aliens with perfect english. It's like an improved and more focused Babylon 5 + lots of hot chicks and camerawork that seems like it should be on a gritty cop show.

    I love it.

It is Frackin awesome! Way better than any other sci-fi on TV. It totally fills the void left by Star Trek.
