Style: Muay Thai and boxing--
First of all, it is guarnteed that any Muay Thai can kick MUCH harder than any boxer could hit. Also Muay Thai can kick repeatly without worrying about breaking anything but a boxer have to worry about breaking their fist.
Second, a boxer have NO trainning for fighting on ground, so what the hell is he gonna to do when he got pin down by someone who go into beating frenzy or got him in a choke or something? If he can get out of any of those situtation and prove it beside using words, I will believe it.
Just throw rock at it and it will go away.

lump me in with FDWhat bewilders me is how anyone (FatalityDragon) could judge Roy in any negative way.
How about the time he knocked a guy out who was on his knees in a fight. Can I judge him negatively for that? (the fucking punk, I'm pretty sure he was losing that one also)
How about the WWE sideshow at his fights? (didn't see this one, but at the last one he had dancing girls and pyrotechnics) Can I judge his self promotion negatively?
And the coup de grace: Can I judge his rapping negatively? (oh wait I know the answer to that one, yes I can)
I do agree he is the best boxer out there right now though <img src=icon_smile.gif border=0 align=middle>

I don't understand the argument 'yeah but this boxer wouldn't do well in UFC'.
Of course he wouldn't?
Thats not what he trains for. If he or any other boxer did intend to go in UFC, they would train for that situation and at least attempt to adapt to it.
The UFC fighters wouldn't do very well in a boxing match against a pro either. So what?

Here's the quote of Ballonknot's that started all the fuss -
"I bet Roy could beat down most any martial artist around."
Apples and oranges, comparing boxers and MMA guys. RJJ probably wouldn't know a submission if it bit him on the ass. That **** takes years to become an expert in. So throwing out a comparison makes no sense. Tito Ortiz said it best when asked about Mike Tyson, "I'd own Mike in an octagon, same as he'd own me in a boxing match". Two totally different types of fighting. Personally, I think MMA is more fun to watch (unless there is a KO, boxing is only slightly more exciting than televised tennis) but I've always been a wrestling-oriented guy, so that's to be expected. The most awe-inspiring person in fighting sports to me is Cael Sanderson. It will be a long time (if ever) before you see someone duplicate that string of victories.
"Go cry about it Vargas. Aren't you late for your shift at McDonald's?""I had once talked to Billy Conn, the boxer, about professionals versus amateurs - specifically street fighters. One had always heard rumors of champions being taken out by back-alley fighters. Conn was scornful. "Aw, it's like hitting a girl," he said. "They're nothing."

Can we say....Rickson? No, I don't know that his claims are correct. They probably are but most of them are challenges against untrained fighters. Just so you know he claims, beat me if I'm wrong:

&gt;Speaking of Roy, I'll throw this out there for you pencil-geeks to chew on.... I'd bet my 401K money that the great Roy Jones Jr would beat anyone's Sensei, Master, or Sifu here! Chew away girls.......
My sensei is MIKE TYSONSAN!!! NOW GIVE ME YOUR 401K!!!!
Like RJJ but he is not ready for Tyson. And judging by his last fight (yes I know the guy was a bum but look how Tyson was moving) he's working to get back the fire that has been dulled for awhile.

BLASPHEMY!!!!! CALL THE ARCHBISHOP A HERETIC IS AMONG US!!!!
&gt;Can we say....Rickson?
Uhm How about we get Rickson in the ring more. THAT I would love to see.
