Guy Who Pays the Bills and Gets the Death Threats Style: MMA (Retired)--
I agree. If he could learn some takedown defense to keep a fight standing, he'd dominate in just about any division but the HW.

Roy is good, I wouldn't say he's GREAT. As for giving him some grappling skills...could he keep up his striking game? Doubtful. Totally different strategy and mindset, not to mention coordinating multiple limbs and angles.
We'll never really know until the $$$ is there in MMA to draw some boxer/striker talent into the scene.

I don't know, Frank Shamrock in his prime vs. RJJ. Now that's a fight I'd pay some money to watch.
"Go cry about it Vargas. Aren't you late for your shift at McDonald's?""I had once talked to Billy Conn, the boxer, about professionals versus amateurs - specifically street fighters. One had always heard rumors of champions being taken out by back-alley fighters. Conn was scornful. "Aw, it's like hitting a girl," he said. "They're nothing."

If you take away the kicking, I'd put my money on Roy against any UFC guy his size. Matter of fact, who cares about kicking! I'll take Roy against anyone in the UFC that is his weight and size!
CrimsonTiger, you sound like a Roy hater? You are wrong! Roy IS the BEST pound for pound fighter in the WORLD!!!! Stop hating.
