    Hell yeah! Hell no!

    Interview with Swedish MMA-legend

Hans Ersson is one of the major personalities in Swedish MMA, and the only man to beat Sergei Kharitanov before Nog (it's not on Sherdog, but Bas Ruten has confirmed the story) did. There are also some interesting bits about the history of the Swedish MA-scene.

Here, for example, he discusses ?ing ?un.

Tyrone: What is Wing Tung? I've never heard such.
Hans Ersson: It's the kind of Chinese integrated fight system to have both standing and ground fight. No submissions though. You can use elbows, headbutts, picking eyes and all in both stand and ground. The kind of Chinese Vale Tudo. At that time this has been the most popular mma sports, I could say. But Wing Tung has no competition. So we have entered Taekwondo and karate matches instead.
He also talks about TKD-matches in the 80's where another swedish MMA-great, Omar Bouchie, smashes his opponents heads in with spinning back kicks. Unfortunately, Hans is confined to a wheelchair these days due to a diving accident, but he's just opened a school in Stockholm where he shares his technical knowledge.

The english is pretty poor, but I hope you enjoy it anyway:http://rsw3.hp.infoseek.co.jp/hans_ersson.shtml
I pointed at him [the panhandler], bringing my rear hand up in a subtle approximation of the double Wu Sau guard that is the default hand position in Wing Chun Kung Fu.

    "Step away," I hissed.

Callin him a legend might be hyperbole. Definitly one of the people who built the swedish MMA-scene though.

I guess they are talking about straight MMA...b/c I used to have a video of Sergei losing the Russian Sambo Championships in the finals.

I'm quite certain for some reason that PIzd has it. ;)
