He listed Savate, but the tats on his body are Kyo tats, and he was wearing a kyo blackbelt.
I think it's much like Goodridge: some Savate school paying him to represent. Or he listed it as his style so that they'd think he's some creampuff and put him in the ring with Royce. I remember hearing he was supposed to face Royce first, but when they found out who he was, they put him at the other end of the bracket so that he'd be "soft" when he fought Royce.
Could be a rumor. Either way, guy was a badass."Emevas,

Badass yes, borderline dirty quite possibly as well. Since the early UFCs had no rules, there wasn't anything against him eye gouging his opponents...so he did...which is why Royce held the choke a little extra.
A year or two later, Gordeau was the guy who blinded Nakai in one eye with an intentional gouge during the tournament that was shown in the movie "Choke". Nakai may have been able to save the eye but wanted to continue to fight and eventually made it to the finals vertse Rickson.
Regardless of your opinion on Rickson, in the movie his corner told him to go after Nakai's injured side of the face and he refused to.
Choke is a great movie if you've never seen it...right behind Smashing Machine IMHO.

Knightmare,
You are one of the last people on this board who should be flaming people considering your well publicized blunder.
With that being said, after posting I did recall that Joe Son tapped from something other than the nut shots.
If it makes you feel better, I actually OWN UFC4...I'd have you ask your parents to buy it for you, but apparently you should invest in some common sense first.
Feel free to challenge me to the death match or whatever makes you feel manlier...I promise I'm not as d34dly as the Satori.
