I have some experience in public schools, mostly secondary schools. The school districts keep track of when parents ask for an evaluation of their kids, since by law the school has a set number of days to do something about it. In all the schools I have seen data for, requests spike in the same year of school. Any guesses as to which year? Its 11th grade, just when they need to have an IEP to get extra time on the SATs. Parents can take their kid to an outside doctor to get tested, and they can shop around until they find a doc willing to say their kid has ADHD. Then the kids gets his IEP, and extra time on the SATs. Funny no one noticed little Jimmy's problem until 11th grade...

Granted, my mom was (is) also convinced that I suffer from a Schizoid personality disorder and, when I was a kid, took me to get diagnosed for paranoid personality, but I managed to 'pass' with a couple psychologists (or w/e they called themselves, it was creepy) It's a miracle I didn't go actually nuts as a kid with a psychologist mother, they're always the craziest people I've noticed. Off-topic, but has anybody noticed that the perfect key to fucking up your kids is to be a child psychologist? I'm not kidding. One of my friend's step-moms was a child psychologist. She used me and her step-son to write reports on, but when she started to have kids of her own, she tried using her training as opposed to be a mom.
Wow. Your going to ask a 2 year old that just pissed all over the bathroom what their motivation was? :suicide: After that, we just started to ignore her interactions with her biological children because it was painful to watch. Her oldest daugher eventually was so in her own head that she had problems interacting with people.
I was hoping that this was an isolated case, but apparently your story demonstrates that it was not. -
