Found someone to work on my grappling skills with:
Stats he me
age 29 49
Benchpress 320 130
Squat 330 290
Wieght 185 245
Started working from various positions. I chose were I was mounted. He absolute killed me. Then I tried with me mounting him. Again he just bucked me off after a short time, and mounted me. The only good thing I got was once from the guard, I almost turned him by trapping hsi arm, and turning him with my leg. That was the closest I got!! He is strong. Oh well, we are going to try working out as often as possible I just figure you got to lose to win (But damn is he strong). Also going to work on building upper body strength.

I do now. No official instructor. Just a good book, some videos, and alot of research. I can't afford the time to go to class myself. Two kids to raise, and they come first. I mean its not money but time that is my problem. Anyway, I talked this guy at work into practicing together. We have to be careful though. I don't think they'll let us draw blood. His background is wrestling and some BJJ.

well that's a good thing, to be training with some1 who does a wrestling/bjj combination.
You can learn a suprising amoutn from intructional videos, books and actual fighting events - you can see them doing the moves with resistance (although this may be the case with intructionals too.)

How many reps are those bench/squat numbers for ?

I hope that's a misprint that you weigh 245 and bench 130 and squat 290.

Mine are three sets of 10. I check with him, but I think hes the same 3 sets of 10. He's a very strong guy, and in much better shape then me. But, with time all things should get better. Plus if I can learn to hold my own with him, It should go along way for preparing me for a real fight. I am looking forward to the training.

No misprint. I have alot of work to do. Fact is, I am stronger then alot of people I know. Just I picked this guy because he is in really good shape. I got away many years ago from lifting. In the last two months I have added it again to my regular routine.
