Yeah, I noticed the dead silence...it was eerie.

It also made me feel gay watching two men in speedos and hooker boots grapple in dead silence.

What was the argument between Bas and the ref? Did he punch in an illegal way?
I pointed at him [the panhandler], bringing my rear hand up in a subtle approximation of the double Wu Sau guard that is the default hand position in Wing Chun Kung Fu.

    "Step away," I hissed.

Did you notice the lack of closed fists to the head?

Are you joking or are you seriously asking?

Pancrase doesnt allow closed fist strikes.

I have this one on tape, it's a great fight. And yeah, Pancrase didn't allow closed-fist punches to the head at the time so the fighters didn't injure themselves. These are good clips of Bas, back when he wasn't as good at grappling as he is now. The "R"s on his hand he wrote there so whenever he'd be grappling he'd know to relax. I think the ref had been trying to stop it beforehand, that's why Bas was motioning he couldn't hear him the first time. Dunno about the second one though.

I also love the part when they go flying out of the ring :) Frank had said in a later interview about this fight that Bas was taunting him the whole time, saying stuff like "I am so strong!" and goofing around like that. Gotta love that perfect roundhouse to the backfist too, that's what really started the cut on Shamrock. This was the first time I saw Frank fight, and I thought he was a prick when I watched it from how he blew off the ref. The other Bas vs Frank fight in Pancrase is a lot better, when Bas is slamming him with those liver shots and Frank just keeps dropping like a sack of ****.

Any other Bas clips? He's my favorite fighter.

This is one of my favourite Bas fights.. mostly because of the unusual stuff that happens (the backfist, the flying out the ring, the goofy faces that Shamrock pulls). According to Bas himself, even though he protested the decision at the time he did intentionally strike Shamrock in the face with a closed fist :icon_mrgr

I think you mean Jason Delucia.. Bas fought Frank Shamrock 3 times in King Of Pancrase, and this fight is the only one which didn't finish with a judges decision.

My buddy has this video called "Bloodiest Muay Thai Fights Ever" or something like it, with some awesome fights. My favorite: Basically this guy gets covered head to toe in his own blood, and while he's pleading for the ref to stop the fight gets KTFO.
