Recently joined BJJ at Warrior Way, Michigan and I was wondering if anybody had a good link for tying a strong belt or had any advice. It's hard to keep it from coming undone sometimes. Thanks.

I know this might seem like a lame subject, but does anyone have a favorite takedown they like to use on their opponent that works well? I've been weak in this area and was looking for some new ideas and wondering if anyone had some new advice to offer. thanks

Ok, I am going to start training brazilian jiu jitsu at an academy next week, I was just wondering how good at grappling I can get in lets say 2 years? I am not that athletic, and plan on practicing as often as possible be it 4 or 5 times a week. If any of you guys know people who have been training for about that long, please tell me how good they are.

i know there will be alot of tournaments this year and i was wondering if you guys had any advise for the people that will be going in there first tournament? i know the first tournament i whent in i was that nervouse and scared of losing i spewed up 3 times befor the match, i almost lost a number of times befor i won by armbar in the 3rd, i think nervs had abig part to play that fight.
so my advise would be to just stay focused on your fight but stay calm and be ok with losing your first fight!

Assume he has uncrossed my legs and is trying to pass my guard. Guys, what should I do in the first moment? And after that? Maybe u can point for under leg and over leg passes. Thanks a lot!!!
Need some ideas on rolling with some one taller. I mean this guy can wrap his leg twice around you in the guard. And the leverage he has when I try to stand up in his guard he can sweep me know problem.

I am competing at GQ Beasts of the East 2 in less than two weeks and want to make sure i do not get tapped out the same way i did last time. can someone tell me how to properly escape the guillotine choke when you are tightly locked in someone's guard? what happened to me was my opponent guillotined me standing and pulled guard and i held him up for some time and by the time i went to the ground to try and work i was out so i tapped. what can i do?

How long does it take to get your first belt ranking?
And how many hours per week do you have to put in?
