On a side note, is it even possible to have a 3rd degree black belt by 10? Or is that just TKD?

Kid saves up enough money, he can likely purchase one: storefront, mail-order, wherever.

I'm not sure why people are trying to say the AKF is some BS Group.

The AKF / Kyuki-do was stated by Grand Master Ken Ok Hyung Kim

As i already listed this previous.
    Grand Master Kims,
    Brief History below:
    Born 1939 Ansong Korea
1966 5th dan Tang Soo Do, Korean Tang Soo Do Association.
1970 6th dan Master Black Belt , Korean Tae Kwon Do Association.
1974 6th dan Master Black Belt Judo, by the Korean Judo Association.
1975 7th dan ,American Tae Kwon Do Federation.
1976 8th dan ,American Tae Kwon Do Federation.
1979 American Kyuki-do Federation was formed.
1990 7th dan Head Master Judo , Korean Judo Association.
1992 9th Degree Grand Master Karate, from Grand Master Soon Ho Chang of Philadelphia, PA

As you can see his accomplishments are WAY beyond any of yours as a Martial Artist. I find it comical people are saying the things they are saying in this thread. I responded to a question about Kyuki-do as a student and supplied more information about it respectfully. I AM NOT an authorized spokesperson for the AKF.

Is Kyuki-do perfect? I wish my school focused more on the Martial aspects of Traditional Judo / Jujutsu that some of the other AKF schools do. Hapki-do is also missing quite a bit from our school....but having such a broad range of Masters with different passions in the AKF doesn't hurt it at all. I can easily drive a few min to a different school and fill the gaps i think need to be filled. Learning is encouraged and each Master has something to teach. ~ enjoy your day.

*I was told my children needed to be minimum 12 years old to receive a Black Belt in Kyuki-do. The AKF didn't feel a child was mature enough under 12 regardless of skill. My oldest is a Brown Belt Kyuki-do and has trained for 4 years. She also holds rank in other arts that I will not discuss here.

This is not about GM Kim personal achievements but quality of instruction in his org and the kind of martial artists it produces.

    Can you understand the difference?

Yep, he could have a black belt awarded to him by Shiva, Yahweh, and Aries, be a millionth-dan, and his organization could still suck donkey balls.

A black belt, and accomplishments, are no guarantee of quality.

Yes i can. How do YOU rate the Martial Artists it produces?

Young Jeff Kim just took 1st place at the International Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Federation (IBJJF) tournament on 3/9/13.

Others im told have been scouted for the US Judo Olympic team and Tae kwon do team. Its still a goal of some children i've even trained with.

According to Kim's bio, he's been studying BJJ under Jeff Curran since 1995 and has a BJJ brown belt from him. I'll bet studying BJJ has more to do with his BJJ success than hist study of kyuki do in the 70s.

"Young" also seems like an odd term to describe a guy who's been training since the 70s.

So that is because his training in Kyuki-do, his training in BJJ since 1995 has nothing to do with that.

US Judo and TKD Olympic teams are not the most feared around the world.

So one name (Jeff) and hearsays is all you have?
