    Hell yeah! Hell no!

I need a good, non "bullshido" martial art. Decide which art I should choose.

Hey, i'm new to bullshido.com, and this is one killer site.

After reading this information, I feel "enlightened" about the evils of "MCdojo's."

Problem is, I want to learn a good, effective martial art. Please suggest some good arts... I don't have any preferences.
I would like to know a realistic art though... and not a "looks cool" or "pretty' art.
I want to know a art that gets the job done, and is conditioned for the street.
*No... I'm not going to "beat up" people, but I want to be the one left "alive".

I live in Seattle,Washington. (in case you need to know.)

Now for your entertainment, I shall post a bunch of sperm.

Be wary of anyone who suggests Jiu-jitsu or Muay Thai. Those are two of the biggest "cult" arts and should be avoided at all costs.

Your beyond Bitch! If im easting my time with ki and psi, then your wasting time to prove frauds, and all **** like that! -theoutsider

Kick boxing is ok, but don't expect do beat a man like Rickson Gracie with that. You need a real martial art. You need Xing Yi Quan. -Emptyflower

The splits, how ever, have a few martial uses. Doing the splits for me, can put my fists in testical strike range.

dont ignore the Art for the Martial or else your just kick boxing

Yes i am serious, there are kicks that can block punches. we have them in Moo duk kwan.
I want to learn how to use them in case my arm gets broken in a fight.
what would you have me do? if my arm gets broke, not block punches? -sempi-stone

Brazilian JiuJitsu, Kali, Krav Maga, Boxing, Wrestling, Kick Boxing, Judo, Muay Thai, etc.

I doubt anyone here will decide an art for you, because it's not our place. Why don't you look up some martial arts and see which ones you're interested in.

Don't take Krav Maga at the Modern Martial Arts place on 8th and Pike. The guy is too new at teaching, and is far too casual about class structure.

    Sparring is a crucial element.

Be it Judo, Kyokushin, muay thai whatever you choose make sure your dojo does plenty of hard contact sparring and their classes are strenuous. If theyr train hard and fight hard chances are its a pretty good scholl to train at.

But remember many things come into the equation. Hunt around for martial arts schools. See how they train, what the instructor is like and how much they charge. Don't be afraid to ask the instructor questions on this either.

Or you can do what Hannibal does and read websites exclusively.

Am I gay? That would mean I would be the first gay ninja pirate.

    I see.

Thanks for the infromation so far.
As of now, i'm in terrible shape.
Just several months ago, did I start any type on body conditioning...
But I'm coming along pretty fast. By this summer I should be musically "Fit" in order to enroll into a "good" art.
My body makes me sick... I yearn to fight, and to improve my strength.

However (before I get pummeled), What art has the losest rate of, "Bullshido"?

I know that Tae Kwon Do is the king of bullshido... ( no offence)

And, how much should I really pay to enroll in a class?
