Personally I would not cutting epople up. I would just wait until they expose themself (Harakure Ryu way:-D) then slash them in where it count (juglar vein, inside wrist, behind collarbone, heart, between ribs, etc...)

Those look like cool drills -- that would get you killed on the street. The second half was a little more realistic, but I don't know, I think I'm spoiled because my instructor is SO good with weapons. Everyone else looks like a kid now.

I think it is funny when people do stuff like that, would be a diff story if he was sparing with somoene.

In my WC school, my teacher has drilled into our heads not to advertise that you have a knife, keep it hidden till your about to strike.

This does 2 things it keeps the guys mind thinking where is the knife when he cant see it, and it gets your mind off of moving the knife cause you know the guy cant see it. Just my 2coppers

I was hoping to see flow drills for two knife fighters, but this were all I could find with this guy. Lots of compressed slashes, probably aimed at the arms, but I'm guessing an adrenaline pumped person wouldn't even feel that knife cutting through them and won't stop their attack at all.

I think this guy would make a pretty good drummer. He was really tapping out a funky beat on those tires. :D

Ditto on what JKD and TBone said - 2nd was more realistic, but don't show your knife.

Also, one thing my instructor said was that if you have to block a slashing knife with your forearms, do NOT block with the inside (bottom) of the forearms. If you do that, your opponent could cut the tendons on your forearms and you won't be able to close your hands to grab or make a fist. If your opponent cuts the tendons on the outside (top) of your forearms, then you can still grab, make a fist, and continue fighting. Just something to keep in mind when you have your hands up. :)

I just happen to run into this discussion. I would invite all of you to work with me personally
That way you can have a more educated opinion on the particular tactics. The idea was to show flow. Please feel free to contact me personally so you can show me exactly how its done. Please let me know anytime that way there's no confusion about what i do.

    sincere regard
