    Hell yeah! Hell no!
BJJ will fall victim to nutriding and cultural misappropriation, like every commercialised art before it.

My friend John who is a BJJ blackbelt (will look up his details) got pinned by a Graeco-Roman champ and freely admits it. Lasted about 15 secs and then was yelling like a fat slave at a bondage party.
    What am I?:

I am ignorant, thieving, lying, hypocrital, violent and thoroughly self obssessed. I steal from others to make myself look better, only to make the item or information worse.

I go on and on and ON about how brave and strong and brilliant and wealthy I am, but in the end I'm all mouth and no trousers.

That's right children, I'm your average AMERICUNT! and I exemplify AMERICA!:911flag:

Yes, through persistent lack of work and the cultivation of ignorance, he is a true American.

    Personal anecdotes mean precisely ****.

BJJ is good grappling. Want to avoid the McDojo version of it? Train with a good competition team that produces good fighters at a gym that encourages cross-training (the gym does not outright offer good striking classes of some variety). Same advice everyone on bullshido gives to every other art, except that good BJJ is a fuckton easier to find than good versions of other arts that have been commercialized.

Since you say he got pinned, I assume it was wrestling, not BJJ. There's nothing surprising about that. Of course a wrestler would beat a BJJ player when wrestling, just like your friend would most likely have beat the wrestler at BJJ.

I'd be surprised if it went down any other way even if the wrestler wasn't very experienced.

Bragging that someone pinned a BJJ player on his back is like bragging that someone fucked a hooker.

I don't see how *gasp* finding a BJJ guy on their back is a sign of the art degenerating into McDojoism. Did you miss all those pictures, clips, and demonstrations where BJJ gets you quite comfy with being on your back?

Dude what the ****? I feel like I'm in an episode of Dawson's Creek. What's up with people writing all eloquent and ****? It really get's on my nerves, because those of you that use those big words and go to dictionary.com to make sure it fits in your sentence and then say some stupid **** like this? Man I give up. Writing like you have an IQ doesn't legitimize what you say, especially when you put big words with fucking retarded comments. Bro, sober up, and re-read what you just wrote, and remember you can't retract your statements, and think about how much relevance your statement really has, because it makes no sense at all. And if you did talk like that in the real world and we met, I'd probably whip out my salami and cholate salty balls and piss all up in your cornflakes...peace out Forrest... :blob8:

    Definition of a FAD:

'A fashion that is taken up with great enthusiasm for a brief period of time; a craze.'

History of BJJ (as taken from - http://academybjj.com/jj_history.html)

'Jiu-Jitsu, translated as 'the gentle art,' is the oldest form of martial art. It has also been defined with terms like yielding, softness, subtleness, and pliability. Its origins date back to India more than 2,000 years before Christ. From there it spread throughout Asia and eventually settled in Japan.
In 1914, Japanese Jiu-Jitsu champion Esai Maeda arrived in Brazil to help establish a Japanese immigration colony. Once in Brazil he was aided by Gastao Gracie, a Brazilian scholar and politician of Scottish decent. To show his gratitude, the oriental master taught the ancient secrets of that ancient fighting style to Gastao's son, Carlos Gracie. Carlos taught Maeda's techniques to his brothers: Oswaldo, Gastao, Jorge and Helio and in 1925 they opened the first Jiu-Jitsu Academy in Botafogo, a district of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. This is where the brothers, prompted by Carlos, essentially designed and laid the foundation for 'Brazilian' Jiu-Jitsu. '

    Hmmmmmmmm.

It means he went up against a top Graeco-Roman wrestler using HIS skillset and lost to the WRESTLER'S skillset.

Skillset? Okayyyyy! Dude this isn't Dungeons and Dragons. F***ing RPGers get off this damn website!!! This stuff is for real and what I do is for real. I compete against grapplers. Have you ever heard of NAGA? Would you like me to send you a real video of a BJJer whipping a wrestlers ass in a tournament? And your going to define BJJ by your D&D BJJ buddy getting his ass kicked? Have you ever heard of a census? Or statistics and probability? Let's add some relevance to my post. If you put a complete wrestler who knows nothing of BJJ on the mat with a complete BJJer who knows nothing of wrestling, and they are both of the same physical stature, stamina, and skill, with all other variables set aside the BJJer will win. Why? Because in grappling the BJJer's skills were developed to take advantage of those types of situation and the holes/flaws that are in a wrestlers game. You new people who know nothing of what I am talking about I have one comparison for you. Frank Shamrock versus Kevin Jackson, pure grappler vs. pure wrestler, same weight class, similar body types, in UFC Ultimate Japan 1. Kevin Jackson won the gold medal in the 1992 Barcelona Olympics, in 1992 Frank Shamrock was offered a contract to be a pornstar, but he decided to stick with grappling. Here's the scenario plain and simple. Bell rings, Jackson takes down Shamrock, and Shamrock armbars the **** out of Jackson in the guard in less than 30 seconds. If you don't get it then just stop talking, because people reading this already think your an ass. There I did it...I pissed all up in your cornflakes...how's it taste? Peace out level 42 Wizard with your skillsets...fricken RPGers sheesh!!!
