Or I could have quoted everyone else in the thread that went on about BJJ falling to McDojoism.
Wait a second, didn't I do that? Let's look at my post again,
Becoming displaced by new styles but still having a prescence in the ring.We all know that BJJ, though excellent in the ring, does not function well in t3h str33t. I believe it will be displaced by more str33t-effective styles such as RBSD and SCARS, but that competitive fighters will still look for it so they don't have to use t3h d34dly moves in the ring. -

Its popularity has been fading slowly but surely already in some parts.
This in itself is not a horrible thing, serious students will always stay with it and when it becomes less of a "fad" it may even attract serious students from other systems who don't wann be part of the whole "NHB" stigma.
So, IF it is a FAd, that is not a bad thing, if it isn't, its all good.
Personally, I would be on the watch for the next big thing in the MA :
Ethiopian Sumo
Jamaican Kenpo
Himalayian Pankration
Iranian Crop dusting -

BJJ as a method of fighting is not a fad.

Pretenderism victimizes all arts. See: Hannibal and Kyokushin Karate websites.training BJJ for 3 months and going online to intimidate kuingfu veterans ("My instructor could kill you if he wanted") etc etc.
