ffs just learning wrestling, grappling, MMA/Submission Fighting - but you have to admire some1 liek this for trying, it's good to see artiles that try like this one...

Hmmm, correct me if I'm wrong, but if the wrestler is close enough to smack the wing chun practitioner in the head, shouldn't the WC guy already be attacking? Aggression? Forward pressure? Something?

That's what it's saying. It looks like the WC person in the article is saying you should side step and back peddle against a grappler. He seems to be talking about making the most effiecient movements so as to get out of the way quicker and easier. I have to agree with magikchiongson on that the two bodies will meet sooner or later.

Still, I think the UFC doesn't represent real fighting in one point in how small the fighting octogon is. Of course sometimes you wouldn't even have that much room to work with but in others you'd have unlimited space.

Absolutely, if you're fighting someone and you're both in range and neither is attacking, what the ****'s the point? IMO wing chun is about attacking as soon as the fight starts and not stopping until you are safe and your opponent/attacker is not a threat any more.

try eh? some people just can't adapt their knowledge/skills/principles to situations other then which they were taught in, this says something about mindless drones and MA in general

if the mindset isn't there........then it's a trained punching bag......

no, I believe it would be better to take wrestling to learn exactly how and what the wrestler is doing and how to correctly counter..
