Ah. A fellow expat. I absolutely agree with the full scope of foods that you've been eating and have often wondered what possible nutritive value they might possess. I'm living in Sichuan right now, and I'll be damned if I don't end up getting something strange in my hot pot or just straight-up end up gnawing on a spicy rabbit head. Ah, China. Well, Quikfeet knows what I'm talking about- we used to live in the same town. Well, he used to live here and I sort of moved in after he moved out, but it's the same idea. That is, he knows what I'm talking about in terms of the Chinese delis, dog hot pots, etc.

there was the nice busy little semi-clean restaurant next to the hospital we were at. we ate there almost everyday after our shifts...until one day, i was eating my noodles and meat soup (3 yuan) and CRUNCH. hmm...not supposed to be a crunch, so i reach into my mouth and pull out a centipede. the other half was in my noodles.
that was my last meal at that place. too bad...it was so close and so cheap. and they had one menu in "kinda english"
you DO know that insects are high in protein and low in fat, don't you?
