Armed men rob tae kwon do class
Richland County deputies are looking for three men who robbed a tae kwon do class.
About 8 p.m., the robbers entered the World Tae Kwon Do Center, 7224 Middle St., and pulled out handguns, Sgt. Mack McLendon said. The men took jewelry, cell phones and other personal belongings from six people at the center, he said. The three also took an unknown amount of cash from the business, he said.
The men stole two vehicles and fled, McLendon said.
One of the cars was described as a tan 2001 Chevrolet Cavalier with S.C. license tags 636 NHN. The other car was a silver 2000 Lincoln Continental with S.C. license tags 622 HFC.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Richland County Sheriff’s Department at (803) 576-3000 or Crime Stoppers at (888) 559-TIPS.

It must have been a children's class, because a real Tae Kwon Do artist would have been able to stop the theives without a scratch.

I wonder if that kid will ever be able to live up to the expectations everyone must have of him (as defender) now. It would suck to peak at 11It's hard to fight when you're in a gazebo -- Mitch Hedberg

Deputies arrest 3 after chase
Mar. 04, 2005
By J.R. GONZALES
Richland County deputies arrested three men Thursday after a two-county car chase. One of the men was wanted on armed robbery charges in Columbia, according to the Richland County Sheriff’s Department. Jonathan Livingston, 19, no permanent address, was wanted by Columbia police on five counts of armed robbery, two counts of kidnapping and one count of burglary.
Livingston and two others were arrested after a late Thursday morning chase on I-20 and Clemson Road, Richland County Sheriff’s spokesman Joseph Pellicci said. The three were spotted in a car in Kershaw County that deputies linked to Wednesday’s robbery of a Tae Kwon Do center in Richland County, Pellicci said.
The three fled down I-20, where they exited Clemson Road and drove into a nearby subdivision. All three were in custody by 1:15 p.m., he said.

I agree with the strategy whole-heartedly. But, who exactly attached the picture that is "for reference purposes only" of the ATA class? The newspaper or the poster? I'm sure there's more than one ATA school in Columbia, but the registered ATA school is on base and any others would probably be named Taekwondo USA or ATA Black Belt Academy...etc. (Franchise-smanchise, blah, blah.)
