This is some Chain Punching done by a JKD guy, he's pretty fast.

right click and save as - then click cancel if it get's stuck and then click it like normal and you should get the whole clip - only if there is problems of course.

    What do you guys think?

would have been better if the guy was fighting back, the guy just stood there like a bump on a log.

it was to show of the speed - not a real fight situation.

The guy is pretty damn fast that's why I posted it - yes I know the other guy doesn't fight back.. he doesn't fight back because that's not what the clip is supposed to show - it's supposed to show the speed of the JKD guy which is pretty damn impressive imo.

Um, yeah. It sorta sucked, no resistance.

We do "chain-punching" as the "straight blast" and it's a transitory thing, not an end itself. You do it to get the hands up and let you charge to a clinch.

Hands are ok, but did anybody else see that wide open groin? You hit someone around the stomach and reflex has that leg coming up, and bang you are de-balled. You're supposed to do it with your groin protected. Chain punches should have ended soon as the guy leaned back and instead go for a takedown for the neck or that exposed leg.

    It's a nice distraction/surprise, but should be a set-up for a power strike or a takedown.

Thanks for the clip guest (see your private messages btw!)

I'm just about to watch it...:

Seems fast, but he seems to be just throwing his hands out as fast as he can as a pose to putting anything behind it. Also he stamps a lot to make it seem more powerful. I would need to see it vs a resisting opponent as well as just a demonstartion. His non-resisting opponent seems to be fine, mostly unaffected and unperturbed, he's just moving about a little.

Again Thank You for the clip, much appreciated:

I think people should post about their styles far more often , and most importantly they should leave videos clips if possible. Got any more to show us ?

In Kajukenbo they do speed drills like this, but usually just in the air. It's the Kempo (Chinese) idea that one/strike one/kill (many Japanese styles) might not work and if your opponent is still standing you had better keep hitting. In Kajukenbo the strikes are anything you want, like left right palm heel to forehead, poke to the eyes, straight to the jaw, shuto the collar bone, straight to the gut, scoop to the groin, then go back up and down and so forth. You can make up what ever you like and it's surprisingly hard to perform correctly. The criticism that it lacks resistance is beside the point. These things are to teach the muscle/mind memory thang.

    Thankyou for the clip.

We do the same kind of thing, against resistance, full contact, at speed. If this is intended as a combat technique, train it that way. If it's a drill, then it should progress upwards to "real" at some point.

But yes, thank you for the clip. The more different stuff we see the better we get at seeing what works. No knowledge is wasted.
